Basic Information About Lichen Nitidus:

Lichen Nitidus is a rare skin condition that looks like small dots all along the epidermis of skin. It occurs when abnormal inflammatory activity in the skin cells controlled by white blood cells known as T lymphocytes. No particular reason is known for what cause the inflammation to begin. Children and teenagers are most likely to become susceptible to this disease, and this is a skin condition that cannot spread form one person to another.

Common Symptoms would be pinhead size bumps in large clusters around skin they are either flat or rounded and match the color of your skin. The most common location for this is the chest abdomen, arms, skin around the genitals, and potential on the palms of hands and soles of feet but is unlikely.

This skin condition is harmless and doesn't cause long term skin problems or medical complications. But someone with this could become embarrassed with the skin condition.

To make a proper diagnosis visit your doctor or dermatologist where they will identify the condition by information you supply him, or by taking a small sample and viewing it under a microscope or even looking at your areas of concern with a magnifying glass.

When you have Lichen Nitidus you could either a few months to a year when it will most likely clear up without medical treatment. Or your doctor if the case is rather serious could prescribe Corticosteroids, Retinoid, Antihistamines, or Phototherapy. Most forms of treatment will result in no scarring or discoloration of the skin. To live successfully with this to be patient and not to be embarrassed by your condition, cause it is not permanent and will go away after time.
